And the quote is in my opinion extremely apt unless you are under the misconception that the deprivation of liberty is a force of nature as opposed to being implemented by freaks of nature!
The virus is a force of nature, you mug. We have no choice about that; the reaction is entirely democratic, if you don't like it you tell your MP, you don't blow up bridges or derail trains, or things like that.

The virus ceased to be a problem months ago.

The increasing restrictions on liberties are far more serious and have started SINCE then.
