NHS administration of PCR tests

Post by rchumpoll »

My husband just had a PCR test before a small in-hospital procedure. He came home from a clinic in Sevenoaks full of admiration about the efficiency of the administration.
But I first smelled a rat when he told me that the results would take up to six days to come. That's three days over the mandatory 72 hours, but THIS WAS STATED NHS POLICY!!!
The results never came, but since he was having the procedure privately, the hospital administered a test before he had the procedure.
Has anyone else experienced this bizarre NHS policy on returning results of COVID tests?
