No - really, % of population is a very poor argument because thousands more would have gone if they had had the wherewithal, the mobility, somewhere to park or a conviction that the trains would not have been diverted. I count myself among these.
I'm on a couple of sites where people expressed remorse/regret that they couldn't go for whatever reason (childcare was a common one) and expressed moral and spiritual support for those they considered luck enough to be going.

London is too far for most to travel; the marches organised in some northern cities have been well attended but are not so widely publicised.

There's plenty of photos and time lapse videos to be found if you care to look, thinks. Trouble is I don't recall many 'idiots' amongst them. As for trusting my judgement - well, that's up to you. I do my own research in that respect; I wouldn't be asking you to provide me with anything.
No I don't care to look. If you claim 500k people, you justify it.
There obviously isn't the evidence and if you think what your claim means - it is close to 1% of the UK population.

How plausible is that?
Bluster all you like. I am well aware of what 480k is - about 0.72% of the population of the UK. You may not be aware that there were similar in Liverpool and Glasgow. I'm not that nimble that I could have visited each. Thinkabout this, thinks; for everyone I knew who had travelled to London there were more that another dozen, I have spoken to since who wished they had been able or would have gone had they known where it had started from. Thats about 1 in 10 of the the population who have not been brainwashed into dutifully following the compliance/fear narrative. Look around you next time you venture out, thinks - in that crowd in the street there's 1 in 10 who reject the position you insist on promoting.

.....................and that number is growing by the week. :D
No the numbers are shrinking from a small base. Let's face it, it's nearly over.
You are just howling at the moon!

Making excuses I know but I'm in a very small minority of a very small minority, being what most Sceptics would deem a socialist hippie! It's.a particularly uncomfortable place to be but I suppose at least I have the element of surprise when I make clear to my unthinking friends what I feel and they can't accuse me of only having my beliefs because I'm 'right wing' and other such stupidity.
Speaking of which, to those who claim the march was tiny, whilst of course I didn't stand there counting, I have been on many many climate marches over the years and this felt very much the same as the largest of those.
It was certainly well into 6 figures and 500,000 wouldn't surprise me.
Why the need to be part of something in order to find yourself? You find yourself before all of that. Its not about being a minority its about being you. F*ck the minority. Its you and your life, and then any minority after that. Even in a group of 5000 people with no legs you still have to think for yourself and navigate only using your upper body. Nobody else is going to walk for you. This isnt about sacrificing yourself. Its about reaffirming and regaining what you have lost or perhaps never had. Its about gaining and not implying there is something to give away. You are not here to simply not lose, you are here to win. The mindset of your approach will define whether you are apologizing for your intentions and goals or whether you are unrelenting and taking no prisoners in making it happen. Confidence doesnt come from asking for permission. It comes from giving yourself that permission.

The madness of crowds has got a really good way of making individuals feel more powerful than they probably ever have done. But what about when these individuals are on their own? No point in looking for the masses to solve your issues when they cannot fill the gaps that involve your capacity to comprehend and taking responsibility for your own life. Its one thing protesting and enjoying strength in numbers but its a whole other thing being that strength when you are on your own. You can be part of something big but on your own be nothing.
