Congratulations misslawbore for posting this! It suggests that you are open to considering whether having the vaccine is in your best interests and that you want to weigh up the pros and cons so that you can make an informed decision.

Many people just accept the prevailing view unquestionably. This is probably because they trust those people in positions of power responsible for the vaccine rollout. But if there is one thing this Cov-19 issue has taught me it is that the governments around the world, the mainstream media and healthcare establishments have provided information that is designed to influence the public into conforming to a certain agenda.

Look at today's Lockdownsceptics.org newsletter for the latest examples of such misinformation and how it is being exposed by some very clever people who just want to bring some truth, objectivity and balance into the mix.

Please read my post of 4th February 'I wouldn't say I was anti-vax in stance......'. I aim to get people to look at the bigger picture and question things.

Unfortunately, looking at things in the round also means considering what we might not know as well as what we do already understand or think we understand. Our immune systems are incredibly complex and amazing but humans have advanced so technologically that scientists run the risk of believing that they can 'improve' human physiology. It's reasonable to think that because SAGE say 'this and that will work' we should go along with whatever they say (or order!). I'm sure SAGE are a bunch of very well meaning people and they are certainly very clever - but are they wise? At primary school I was taught the story of King Canute for a very good reason.

So, misslawbore, I will offer you moral support in whatever decision you take because I know that you have made the effort to think carefully about your options. There is no right or wrong here.

If you are asking in this forum, which is majority anti-vax, I suspect you have made up your mind.

But, ask who is most qualified... your GP or some strangers on-line?
Who is obliged to act in your best interest?

If you're receiving that much pressure at this stage it suggests you're in a vulnerable category. In which case the vaccination is overwhelmingly in your own individual best interest.

Unless you're opposed to vaccinations in general, which is a whole different argument, it would be odd to refuse this one rather than any other.

However, it's not compulsory!

No. It suggests that there is a vulnerability to pressure - not to covid! In which case, removal from the pressure is the individual's best interest. A rational decision is better made by reviewing the situation with a clear mind.

I’m with defer. Until you fancy a break abroad, or let others who are in more need have it, or you just want to see if those who have had it have any issues three, six or twelve months down the line. Don’t rule it out to your friends and relatives (if as I assume you want to stay friends). Try to feel sympathy for them, they have been brainwashed. Alternatively, naughtily, can you pretend to have had it? Fake an appointment and go for a walk, returning with a a plaster on your arm?

I have gotten very sick of the forced b-s that comes from people who won't allow individuals to do what they think is right for themselves so I am in the 'f-it' camp.. so I proudly tell people that I am a fully paid up member of the tin-hat brigade and a full-on anti-vaxxer.

It shocks people so much that it ends the conversation very quickly. So this is what I say.... "I hear what you are saying and I understand fully that you have the right to get the experimental vaccine if you choose to. I do not because I am a fully paid up member of the tin-hat and anti-vax brigade"....

It also relieves boredom and makes me chuckle inside. If they persist with any chitchat I just repeat 'Yes' very loudly until they stop talking. It may come across as ignorant but honestly, they are being ignorant by trying to encourage you to do something you clearly don't want to do. Then if they ask again you can simply ask what they didn't understand about your answer last time they asked.

Funnily enough, people who have been vaccinated then tell me that they have (in an 'oh by the way' tone) to which I reply - that's nice for you and then I change the subject because I think they think I want to spout about it. I don't because I am past caring to be honest.

Failing all that, a swift 'I don't want to talk to you about it - thank you' works.

Only people in relatively vulnerable groups have been eligible for the vaccine so far - so I assume the poster is in one of those groups.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone in their 20s, for example, might feel they can't be bothered.

It is duly registered clinical trial with end point in 2023 . as such noone should be advising ayone else whether to participate in it or not as risks are unknown in immerdiate and long term..thats what clinical trials are designed tio assess... Its totally your choice to evaluate risk benefit ration for yourself.

Also on the flip side there are effective treatments especially when started at home when first symptoms appear . I ordered ivermectin on line and will use it if i have to. It has been approved for treatment in Slovakia only last week .Also in Denmark virologist did a 4000 patients meta data study recently to show ivermectin s use reduced death by 80% so I would not be in any hurry to vaccinate myself either. I am taking supplements daily to keep my immune system in good condition. So far not even a cold .
